January is shaping up to be rather whirlwind. With incorporation, I guess I was lulled into a sense that the hardwork was done. Ha. So that little thought has been completely destroyed. Incorporation means we now have the freedom and legality to progress in so many ways. The only draw back is that these ways mean a lot of work for everyone involved. Regardless, it's awesome to see things coming together.

We've taken a little bit of flak for how the exec staff currently is also serving as the Board of Directors. I understand the concern, but I also understand that there's not a large amount of alternatives. I firmly believe that the worst thing we could do to the organization right now would be to hunt down nine random individuals and catapult them into positions that have incredible influence on the direction of the organization.

The current, temporary board is just that. Temporary. There is not even a thought of staying indefinitely. It is simply a provinsional effort. When sufficient interest is shown in the BoD positions, elections will be had. The concept of rushing things does not bode well with me, taking into consideration the things I have seen happen with other groups who tried to do this.

Right now I'm working on scheduling out a follow up presentation with the organzation who has given us the grant. I'm really looking forward to reporting the immense progress we've made.
